What were your favorite episodes?
I forgot what a great show Ghostwriter was until I discovered it on YouTube. In fact, this is just me, but I think YouTube is actually helping the TV/movie industry. I enjoyed the show again so much that I went on eBay and bought a season 1 DVD set brand new. And not only does Ghostwriter hold up in 2013, it holds up very well. (In fact, I wrote Facebook messages to Tram-Anh Tran and Mayteana Morales telling them how I enjoy the show after all these years. Sadly, I shut down my Facebook shortly after, so I never got to know if they wrote back, but I'm sure they're happy that someone from BC took the time to tell them what a great show it was/is.) So in the style of the Nostalgia Critic, I'm gonna make my top 11 favorite episodes.
11. FOUR DAYS OF THE COCKATOO [Any episode about cruelty to animals deserves a place on this list.]
10. WHO IS MAX MOUSE?
9. BUILDING BRIDGES [The gang activity is pretty scary, but it does drive home a point. And you have to love Lenni's song at the end.]
8. GHOST STORY [This was the first one so it has to be on here. Plus, the THABTO's were a unique touch.]
7. WHO BURNED MR. BRINKER'S STORE? [Max Wright has done a lot of weird roles in his career, but I never thought he could be a convincing villain. As well, it would be scary to tell lies to your father, especially if he was Samuel L. Jackson.]
6. JUST IN TIME [The idea of time-traveling in this story is pretty cool, especially since we get to meet a survivor in the "future".]
5. OVER A BARREL [Environmental awareness reigns supreme in this one.]
4. GET THE MESSAGE [I feel bad for the Ghostwriter team falling apart, but I find this one entertaining and intense.]
3. DON'T STOP THE MUSIC [Not sure why, but I love that R&B/New Jack Swing of the early 90's and apparently so did Lenni, if that's what her style was. I also love the way the episode pokes fun at the evils of the record biz. And as long as it's on my mind, I wish PolyGram, BMG and EMI came back. Stupid mergers! EMI is the label that was home to The Beatles, not *beep* Universal! John and George must be spinning in their graves. Oh wait, I was talking about Ghostwriter. Well...a great episode.]
2. WHO'S WHO? [Oh, if only there was such a movie star as Lana Barnes. She may have been 70 at the time, but man, if she had a large heart to everyone near her, especially the Ghostwriter team. I'm not going to give away any details of the episode, but I am going to say that the ending almost brought me to tears. I hope it did for some of you.]
and the Number One best episode of Ghostwriter is
WHAT'S UP WITH ALEX? [Out of the all Ghostwriter episodes, this one is perhaps the most, well, realistic and frightening, not to mention thought-provoking, heart-warming and moving. It also drives home the point that you should never turn to drugs, because not only does it kill your brain and throw away your social life, it'll end you up in deep financial trouble. Well, better off watching the whole thing on Youtube just so you can see it.]
I'd like to know what your favorites were.
