I cannot emphasize this enough. Gargoyles NEEDS to be made into a movie.

Gargoyles needs to be taken out of the Disney vault and adapted to the big screen.

If they ever do decide to go ahead and attempt to to turn this series into a film saga, they have to draw from several very important factors and elements.

1) Keith David needs to come back and play the voice of Goliath. If he either can't or simply won't, then he should at least be involved in finding a suitable replacement and/or be mentioned and honored in some way. This is just my personal opinion, but I strongly feel that he was the heart, mind, and soul of the TV shows' essence.

2) The characters, stories, and themes that made the TV show creative and memorable need to be thoroughly examined and properly translated into the films with deep and involving storylines and character development.

3) Each film should probably be based on the multi-part episodes (EX: Awakening, City of Stone, Avalon, The Gathering, and Hunter's Moon) while also combining them with stories, elements and themes from other episodes in a creative, logical, believable, and entertaining way.

4) It has to maintain its central elements of strong heroes/protagonists, complex villains/antagonists, and its dark and vivid style, which made it such a unique and interesting show to begin with.

I really think Disney should go for it. While it would certainly be a serious risk/chance to take, I believe it would ultimately pay off because I think most people are ready and willing to be surprised and entertained with something different from the formulaic and generic material that is thrown at our faces year after year. It can still be fun and entertaining, just not in a way that is insulting to our intelligence as people (EX: Michael Bay). Entertainment should complement and challenge our intelligence, not insult it with juvenile, childish, and repetitive material.

Agreed, I have been praying for this for years.

I totally stand behind that. This series gives me chills. I watched it when I was about 8 or 9 and now at 26 I am re-watching it. Awesome!

If they do make it into a movie or even series like Supernatural...I really hope the actors/actresses are a good match. I hope they won't mess up the gargoyle image.

I love it!!

I grew up with this show and am actually rewatching it now. I completely agree. We need a movie now. Cgi/ mo cap for the gargoyles, have the voice cast return. Ed Asner is still very active. Shame Frakes isn't 15 years younger, he could actually play Xanatos pretty well. There's simply too many rich stories and original characters to overlook.

What? Why not just watch the series again. I don't want a rehash of what we've already seen just for the sake of making it live action.

something different

That goes against rehashing the episode story arcs.

Can't stop the signal.

I'm guessing you thought the VHS movie that was made up of the first few episodes (that missed some parts for some reason) was pathetic. Honestly, I can't blame you.

Would be nice. But it might not happen due to the overall cost

They should do a live action Gargoyles movie. You think with all these live action adaptions with most of Disney's classic animated movies you think Disney would at least come up with a live action adaption of Gargoyles. Gargoyles could be on par with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Instead of a movie, they should just to a live action t.v. series. If they could do Game of Thrones or Mandalorian, they could definitely do this.
