‘Friends’ reunion special will likely be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres on HBO Max

Meh. Unless it's a show about where they are now, nope. Don't care.
shareWait a minute. So its just an interview with the actors about Friends? Not a proper sequel special with the characters? LOL
shareIt seems so. All the hype for nothing. 😂
shareI thought the money they were getting was abit low for a ''Friends' continuation/reunion show (offered 1m each they declined then upped to 2.5m).. was thinking 'wow they must really be hard up/desperate to do it for that' .... no wonder! Its just a fricking interview!
shareIt will be the first time the 6 cast members will be together since the show ended, besides at a dinner a few months ago.
And who knows, maybe when it gets a ton subscribers and views for HBO, they'll do a real reunion.
be interesting to see what a Friends movie (like Sex & the City) would do at the box office.. would it be huge like a Force Awakens and do a billion, or just do well/ok like SATC 300-400m ww ..
shareI don't think Ellen's the right host for this. They need a much better interviewer. Howard Stern, Joe Rogan, Dick Cavett (is he still around?)...somebody with the curiosity and the drive to really get into it. Maybe team up with Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Have Jerry Seinfeld take them all out to dinner, keep it casual, low-pressure, and just let us listen to the conversation of the Friends as just regular friends.
shareI don't think they even need a host at all. Just have it be the 6 of them talking about the show and their favorite scenes and whatever else. Have a producer off screen there to keep it on track and whatnot, but that's it.
Ellen is just going to make it all about herself.
Oh, yeah, absolutely! Forget what I said, that's definitely what they need to do. Just let it be what it is.
shareNot sure if I'll watch this, but an interview is way better than an actual reunion show. I've never been a fan of those.
shareWhat would make this good is if the interview is with the cast IN CHARACTER. Make it meta, have some fun with it.
shareBasically just a round table discussion about the show. Do they really think this is going to lure new viewers to the streaming service? I'm still trying to wrap my head around a Paid channel creating a special "Pay Even More" channel.
