How popular is this outside of the USA?

I know there are people here from other countries and I was wondering how popular it is elsewhere. Where I live in the U.S. it's available on at least three national cable channels and two local stations. This show ended almost 15 years ago and it seems to be as popular as ever. So how often is it broadcast in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and is it dubbed for broadcast in other non-English speaking countries.

So long everybody, it's been nice. I really didn't care for the fish, though.

it is well known here in Germany, but besides some pay tv programs, re runs pretty much stopped.

Hanged, Ami. Your father was not a tapestry.

reply

In India, it is the most popular English TV show of all time.
Almost everyone is introduced to US Sitcoms through Friends or HIMYM

what about Doogie Howser?

A big Bang theory reference :P

Anyways, Doogie Howser is not known in my generation atleast. I would be surprised if it had been popular at all. Don't know how the BBT team came up with that one

Doogie was Kunal Nayyar's favourite TV character. Maybe the reason.

Doogie Howser was not broadcast in India until several years after it had been cancelled in the USA and it actually became a big hit there. The magic has probably worn of by now

It is still being broadcast on free to air TV here in Australia.

It has changed Networks numerous times, but it has hardly been off screen on one channel or another since the show ended it original run.

reply

It is the most famous popular American show in China

I was in the UK recently, it seems to run every weekday on channel 4. Australia is the same. I currently live in Chile, it airs on Warner on weekdays but dubbed in Spanish. I don´t think it runs on free to air though.

i think its just come back , it was on constantly about 10 years ago , then had a long break , now , as you say , ch4 are running it early evening.
I watched one , then lost interest again

It's pretty much on constantly in the UK. Comedy Central often shows 12-hour marathons of it, from 9am to 9pm. And by often, I mean several times a week.

It also gets on Channel 5 sometimes. (But both channels are owned by the same company.)

It was very popular in the UK when it was first on. (Then being shown on Channel 4 and E4.) And has remained shown pretty much ever since.

I’m from Croatia. It is very popular here still.

It was popular when it aired, but also they showed re-runs couple of times.

It was not dubbed in my country, we use subtitles.

This summer I re-watched the whole show as it is on Netflix.

One of the most popular ever, here in Italy.

Being broadcast on two different channels over here in The Netherlands right now.
