On the Beach hands down

Agreed everytime I watch "On the beach" tears fall. Literally just watched it, and without fail started bawling like a baby.

I think the letter is the saddest. Well the first bit where carter reads it anyway

Both episodes get me Every. Single. Time.

All in the family is more of an adrenaline rush with a huge emotional climax. Where as On The Beach is a slow, drawn out, emotional journey - and you already know the conclusion. The part that always gets me more than any other is when Rachel releases those balloons into the sky. The whole episode is a tear jerker, but I am usually sobbing from the point they start playing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, through to the end.

3 scenes come to mind immediately.

1. Of course the beach with Mark and when Carter reads his letter to the ER staff.

2. Lucy dying

3. When Peter is unable to save his nephew. To me this is almost the saddest since he pretty much gave up the majority of his family life to be a great surgeon, but couldn't use these skills to save his own nephew.

Very sad episode indeed. Most of the ER episodes made me cry depending on the characters and the story lines. Dr. Green was pretty heavy to the fans, but for me it was the season premiere of 15.That was on par with Green. I definitely cried.
