FAVOURITE ER. CHARACTER ?

which are your favourite characters from the full 15 year run of ER ? i know this subject has been covered on other posts here on IMDB, but i'd just like to clarify, the most common top favourite. for me it has to be Dr. Mark Greene (the excellent Anthony Edwards) He was just cool, clever, dedicated and some of the episodes he was in over the first eight years were outstanding. the show definitely lost some of it's appeal for me when he left / died off.

i also like Carol Hathaway (the simply gorgeous Julianna Margulies …i am now a big fan of The Good Wife)

what are your thoughts?

Abby Lockhart, definately. Followed by Carol Hathaway, Kerri Weaver, Doug Ross and Luka Kovac.

The first episode I saw was "Into That Good Night," and I fell in love with Mark Greene. I went on to purchase everything Anthony Edwards appeared in, and after reading about him, grew to admire him deeply. I sobbed for 10 minutes when Greene died, and I NEVER cry. Greene was a complex character, well written and excellently performed. However, it is impossible to overestimate the importance of the interactions among this ensemble cast, and I must note that one of the best scenes, in my opinion, is between Benton and Carter at the el station after Gant is killed.

Pretty much every character in the first eight seasons, but I guess I would have to say Mark since I stopped watching the show when he died. It just seemed like the end of an era, and I didn't bother with the later seasons. I still haven't seen them.

I really dislike Mark. To me the best seasons were 9-11 because that was still the old ER but without Mark (well, season 6 is also a favorite).
I really like Carol, Susan, Kerry, Lucy, Deb (who was so underused), Cleo, Greg, Neela and Sam. I really enjoyed most of Peter's storylines but I did not really like him as a person. It seems I greatly prefered the female characters over the male characters.

I also liked Romano, Weaver, Corday, Pratt and Peter Benton a lot
