Cstbl Turnbull was a HITMAN

Whilst watching reruns of this on ITV3 it occured to me that in the spin off series featuring episodes with Constable Turnbull......(where Ray had become a deep deep depp undercover mob spy....you know - when the series became a little more stupid).... the face looked familiar!
He originally appeared as a hitman Laurier in the original series. Season 1, Episode 14: The Man Who Knew Too Little...dodgy moustache though!

Yeah I just noticed this fairly recently too.

The guy who plays the head mobster in that episode also appears as a different character in other episodes. He's in Diefenbaker's Day Off as one of the crew who 'employ' the ex-boxer to jump in front of cars for insurance money. I have a vague idea he might be other episodes too - I guess there was a limited number of bit-part actors available at the time!

I noticed hitman-Turnbull the second time I saw The Man Who Knew Too Little - he does have quite a distinctive face, sort of horse-like...

I never really noticed the other actors who turn up as different characters in the series, although I do sometimes get the feeling I've seen a face somewhere before...I just assummed it was because I've watched due south too often ;)

I'm sorry, I'm new here, but there was a spin off series? what was it like?

Hi

There wasn't/isn't a spin off of Due South as Edward above stated. What he is referring to is Seasons 3 and 4 in which we still had all our favourite characters minus Ray V (David Marciano) who left the show due to other commitments and was replaced by Callum Keith Rennie as Det Stanley 'Ray' Kowalski.

Constable Turnbull actually first shows up in Season 2 in the episode Bird in the Hand. The character was developed more in Seasons 3 and 4; which if you live in the UK are now being shown on ITV 3, Weekdays 6.30pm

It really annoys me that people make comments such as Edward did about DS becoming more stupid. If you are a real fan then WHY WHY WHY would you not enjoy the programme in Seasons 3/4 just because they replaced one character?? We still have Fraser, Dief, Frannie etc. CKR brought a fresh perspective to the show. And, in my opinion, was not detrimental to the show one little bit. As for the story lines, they were as good as ever. Watched Mountie on the Bounty last night. It was brilliant.

Anyhow, Asta Wildstar, sorry for going on. For more info on the show there is a fab website called William and Elyses Due South Page, where you can get all the info u need on the best show ever made

Hitman Turnbull and the others were great. And DS loved to reuse it's extras without making them the same people. The recurring guy who plays various villians, and undercover cop in YMRT, a cabbie in Chicago Holiday and the guy Fraser chases over a waterfall in BDTH is a great example.

Yeah... and after all those career changes, he went and married Tori Spelling. He must have really lost his mind.
