Anti-Republican Jokes...

I've been slowly revisiting this FANTASTIC series and I was quite surprised at some of the pointed anti-Republican jokes that would pop up every once and a while (I'm not complaining by the way). I suppose a lot of these types jokes went over my head at such a young age when I was first exposed to it on latenight television, but I had no idea this was such a topical show. Here are some examples...

Gripes of Wrath - Obvious parody of Rush Limbaugh on the radio
Ride the High School - Critique of Bush's "No More Taxes" stance
Cellar Beware - Horror stories of "Young Republicans" to scare consumers

Can you think of any others? :)

In "They Craved Duckman's Brain" the villain's video includes an appearance by the Republican party. "What do the Republicans have to do with this video?" Duckman says. "Nothing," says the villain. "They just go where the evil is."

Also in the episode where Duckman keeps growing, he mutters something about how he can't get health care because of the Republican Congress.

Every episode featuring George Herbert Walker 'King' Chicken?

After Cornfed and Duckman go to the movies and watcvh a kids movie, Duckman says "Where's all the sex and violence Bob Dole promised?"

Also in the rehab episode, there's a sex-addict pervert senator in the therapy group. I'm guessing he's based on a real person since the others are (Roxanne=Roseanne, Roulette=Andrew Dice clay, etc), but I dunno who.

Some notable Anti-Democrat jokes too:

Cornfed is embarassed at having a Mondale tattoo

Bill Clinton is the devil figure of Duckman's conscience

I'm going to shove coal so far up your stocking you'll be coughing up diamonds!

that's kind of funny, but i always thought they were making fun of people who were anti-Republican (much like they were making fun of people who make fun of stutterers in "a fish called wanda.")

plus, duckman was obviously an imbecile, so if he was anti-Republican, then....well, you get the idea.

"will someone tell that mime to shut up?"

I think they, like South Park, saw both Republicans and Democrats as targets. Some episodes revolved around corporate greed and religion while others tackled tree huggers and the pursuit of utopia. In fact, Fluffy and Uranus held over-politically correct views that compelled Duckman to put them in a blender, furnace, microwave, steamroller, etc.
