I was watching old episodes the other day, and it occured to me that Family Guy rips off the Critic more than it rips off The Simpsons. The humour is so similar, the whole flashback-gag reflex-irrelevent humour type thing that Family Guy do is just too similar to The Critic to be a coincidence.

Who says it's a rip-off? Maybe it's a homage? Seth MacFarlane is a big Simpsons fan, after all.
Other than the cutaways, I really don't see how the Critic and Family Guy are similar enough to warrant calling the latter a rip-off.

Watching it, it strikes me that Seth Mac might at least have been a fan.

shareI don't know I'm watching the show on youtube and I think Family Guy and The Critic are similar with the flashback thing they do. Other than that the show has it differences. If anything I think Family Guy take after The Simpsons.
