I put this series on my Netflix queue recently. The original run of this show was when I was 13 and I did watch it in college on Comedy Central reruns and found it funny then. However, when I watched it recently, it just didn't have the same appeal. I'm not sure if the references were too dated or if I actually outgrew it. Either way, I just didn't find it as funny the last time I saw it. I guess some shows are just better as memories.

Most of the movies they lampooned then were new or timeless classics. The "new" movie references aren't quite as funny. Some of the episodes I think are still pretty good though.
I've been watching the series on YouTube for the first time and I must say I'm pretty unimpressed. Don't get me wrong this show can be quite funny and clever. it's not bad by any means but I expected more, the avg rating is much too high. The references certainly aged poorly, and my god I hate his sons voice actor it's unbearable. The animation is nice but has no distinct style to it. I don't care for any of the characters so far but I sure do like lovitz
shareLovitz is great in everything he does. This series however, just didn't age well with the references.
shareexactly, the references do it in and this show is pretty much solely about reference jokes. but lovitz parts on the simpsons and especially seinfeld will always be funny he's a good comedian
shareI think that the ABC episodes are not too outdated. However, the Fox episodes overdo it with referencing to current events at the time.
ABC was more careful with telling the writers, "Hey, you might not want to talk about this. People 20 years from now will not understand," but it seems like Fox just let them do whatever they want.
