Mos Def

My mom was a big Cosby fan and I remember she used to ask me to tape them and I would watch them with her. When I was moving about 6 years ago I found the tape and watched an episode. It was pretty corny and contrived but I understand why older viewers liked it. Its charms were similar to Matlock's.

The crazy thing is that when Black Star came out in the late 90s, I saw Mos Def on one of their videos and was like, Wow, that's the dude from the Cosby Mysteries! I remember thinking that it was pretty audacious that he was going for a career as a "conscious" rapper after being so corny and Hollywood.
