There's an audience for shows like Christy, but religion is on the decline. That doesn't mean that social codes should decay, but sometimes there's a kind of thinking that because faith in a god is not trending, that therefore social codes are not trending either. Therefore a show like Christy gets a pass by production companies.
It's untrue, but that's how the marketing works. I'm an atheist. I vehemently dislike and disagree with any concept of a god of anykind, but I do believe in presenting oneself properly and proper conduct, as well as a general humanitarian outlook, which is part of what Christy was all about (however much I disagreed with the show's religious message).
A production company, or maybe one of the major studios, might pick up on the bible audience again and give her another try, but I doubt it.
Another female oriented show was Anne of Green Gables (the 80's production), which saw new life in the 90s and 2000s with different casting. Something like that may happen with a new version of "Christy".
