Spoilers. Could any see that Christy loved Neil from the beginning?

You could totally see it from the way Christy looked at him and the was he looked at her. There was so much more chemisty between Neil and Christy than David and Christy. Christy may have talked a lot about David, but it was very obvious that Neil and Christy were meant to be together. I just bought the entire Christy series recently from Wal-mart and will be checking out the Christy movies that were made a few years ago. I'm getting the one where Christy has to choose between Neil and David and she chooses Neil, although the actress for Christy is different. Plus, I think that Stewart Finlay-McLennan is a good looking man, although, if I'm correct, he's nearly 50 or is 50 years old. But I am a fan of Neil and Christy being together just because of what I observed in the series. In the episode where David's sister gets married, Christy imagines herself marrying David, but then Neil interruptes that thought when he asks Christy if the space beside her is empty.

Who agrees that there was so much more chemistry between Neil and Christy than David and Christy and that they were meant to be together?? Who was happy that Christy chose Neil??

I did not see it, but from knowing about Lenora Whitakers (Christy) life before watching the series I knew she married the preacher (John A. Wood) in real life, so I was hoping that they would continue with more facts than fiction.

I knew that Neil loved her from the first episode. I knew he loved her in the scenes where she went to his cabin after falling in the river. The fact that he gave her his wife's purple silk dress. What man would do that if he didn't have any feelings. Oh and when he kissed her so gently as she was in bed after getting hit in the head from the fire to the school house. HHmmmm. It was pretty obvious to me. I was happy she chose him in the movies. If I were her, I would have chose Neil way sooner. He actually cared about her, took her feelings into consideration, and didn't try to force himself on Christy.

i also noticed that they loved each other in the first episode.

speaking of the later movies, didn't they film 2 endings? because i swear i remember seeing the advertisements for the movies and they showed her marrying david, but when the movie aired she married neil. and i think i saw the movie again later on and she married david.

I don't remember anything about two endings, toms 1108, but I think it would be neat to have alternate endings -- that way they could satisfy both fan bases.

I do agree that there was more chemistry with Neil from the beginning and that all the bluster throughout the season that they directed at one another was covering their feelings of attraction.

I am glad she chose Neil too. I think that they did film two different endings. They should have put the alternate ending on the DVD also. That way, The ones who wanted her to marry David wouldn't be dissapointed. Everyones happy.

This is why it is "an adaptation", which used the basic theme of the young girl and the back country life adjustment. Stewart Finlay-McLennon is (being of Australian background) a tremendous attraction over a plain American guy. Although David was well-played, the mystery and attraction of Dr. McNeil was just stronger in this series. I didn't like the ending at first, but then I thought.......you can imagine it to end any way you want and that is the good of it. If you are satisfied with David, or with Dr. McNeil, just put your imagination to work. I watched a little of the first movie, but have a hard time adjusting to other people playing roles that have been basically created by an actor or actress and couldn't get into it.

Absolutely. I knew as soon as she first laid eyes on Neil.

It also hearkens back to the traditional marriage plot, centered on the courtship rituals between a man and a woman and the obstacles that faced the potential couple on its way to the nuptial payoff. The man met first (Neil) will be the one the heroine marries. The second male encountered (David) will not be the spouse of the heroine.
