Leave Of Absence (spoilers)

I am stoked that we are able to catch the first two seasons online. I just watched the season 2 episode Leave Of Absence and man what an amazing episode. I watched this show when it was on the air and abviously don't remember much because I don't remember irch dying. It was tragic. I really like Diane and the way she reacted to the whole shooting and shooter when they brought him in. And then when she went to apologize and decided that she didn't mean it so she didn't. I loved it because it seemed so realistic. again, what an amazing episode.

Yes, I liked that episode too because of it's realism and for the fact that Geiger goes away for a while. I can't stand his character and thought the whole series was in danger of becoming the Mandy Patinkin Show. He can't act and he definitely can't sing, so I could never understand why he was there.

In my opinion, I think this is the best episode DEK has ever written off any of his shows. It starts off with a laugh when Geiger said what he said to Kate. "Don't take it personally, Kate. It's probably some feminist backlash. They probably think somebody who looks the way you look couldn't possibly be a good surgeon. Though, to me I don't get it. You're not that much to look at." I laugh my head off ever time I see that. But for the majority of the rest of that episode, I'm either on the verge of tears, or flat out crying. Especially when Geiger collapses into Kronk's arms after Birch dies in surgery. Then when they're wheeling Birch's body to the hearse, and everybody is lined up applauding, that gets me every time.

The best single episode of any of DEK's shows.
