Appeal to Poirot fans?

To buy for someone who is a huge fan of mysteries like Poirot and Monk? Please advise. Thanks.

I don't watch Monk, but I do happen to be both a Cadfael and a Poirot fan (as well as a Sherlock Holmes/Jeremy Brett fan). The thing is I've noticed I don't like detective stories, if they're not set in a different time-period. As soon as there are historical locations and costumes, I love it. A poirot fan should like Cadfael, and even more if it's someone who likes the Middle Ages.

I'm a Sidekick and proud of it.

Thanks for the advice.

It cool to see the crime solved without recourse to a modern lab. No fingerprints, no DNA analysis, zilch. Like Poirot, Cadfael has to use his "little grey cells" to find the baddies.

I've just checked IMDB's also liked list. They say those who liked 'Cadfael' also liked 'Midsomer Murders,' 'Morse,' 'Lewis' and the various Sherlock Holmes adaptations most of all. No one seems to have also liked 'Poirot' on that list. Strange. I would have thought that Poirot comes closer to Cadfael than those police series mentioned.

Glad this question was posted
I recently became a big Poirot fan and just finished the first 12 sets of Midsomer Murders ( Love that show too,)
I think this would really appeal to me especially since I enjoyed Derek Jacobi in I Claudius and really like the movie "Name of the Rose".
Was trying to decided to take advantage of the Black Friday at Amazon on the Cadfeal collection. Thanks you've pushed me over the edged.
