I love this show, but I'd love to see a series about Cadfael during his Crusader years, learning his craft and finding his way to God in the madness of it all.
Murder mystery during the war for the Holy Land? God, yes please.

I love the idea. I am afraid Derek Jacobi will never shoot any additional Cadfael novel adaptation, and I couldn't bear to see a Cadfael recast. But if the story is about a young Cadfael, then of course he needs to be recast. Now who could play a younger version of Jacobi and a Cadfael in the making?

I also love the prequel idea. Who to play it, I don't know. I don't keep up with current young actors much.
It would actually have to be someone unknown? Because wasn't Cadfael a teenager when he left on Crusades?
