PJ and Maggie

Hey guys. Ok, so does anyone remember back when PJ and Maggie started out (these older episodes are on daily at 2pm on channel 7)? Well they HAD to keep their relationship so secret and not let anyone in on it. Why was this? Couples have formed at the station left right and centre. I was just wandering why it was such a big deal with the whole secrecy thing....

Anyone? :)

Well back then , Tom did not approve of relationships between his "people'. This is why they had to keep it a secret. I can't remember when or why he evntually let it go....

reply

See I remember that, But Adam and Dash had a thing didn't they? Around the same time...? But it was still SO important to keep their (PJ and Maggie) relationship secret.

good point..... maybe it was to do with their rank in the force?

Yeah maybe. Sounds like a good justification to me

the adam and dash thing never really turned into anything, i think that Tom was just dead against the whole relationship in the station thing. Fuuny though, at some point in 1999 i think it was he let on to PJ that he knew when there was all that stuff with maggie and ben going on. They were engaged in the end so i guess it all came out, can't remember exactly how though.

It all came out when Maggie went into the safe house a couple of months before she died. PJ thought she was dead and it was obvious that he wasn't just mourning a friend. I think the boss already sort of knew about it though, he would be pretty thick not to :P Tom and Monica had to admit they knew about the relationship when they took PJ off the case.

It was policy that couples in a relationship could not work in the same station. If they were found out Tom would have transfered one of them out. It was stated last week when they were videod at Lovers Leap.

Yeah that is about right....but when they think that Maggie is dead and they realsie that she and PJ were more than friends i think Tom had to accept it because they had been together for over a year and it hadn't effected the way that they worked with each other. After that i think that tom became a lot more accepting of that sort of thing, especially as he has always looked on Maggie as a daughter.
