One of my very favorite movies

I saw this incredible film many years ago. At first, I was startled by a 'musical
about AIDS' but when I saw it I realized it is a unique, wonderful masterpiece.
Very few artists have the imagination (and inspiration) Greyson had for this
film... For the first time, I was happy to see a different film, not the usual
melodrama about AIDS, but a film that made me THINK.
There is even a quotation from Leo Bersani hidden in the Butthole song...
I am not sure if this film had a box office 'success' or a large audience,
but I am happy to see that it is available nowdays (DVD).

I've been watching the top 500 or so movies from 1993, and this was tonight's. Very different movie. I could picture it having a cult following. The boner in the shower song is available on you tube.

Just watched this again, for the first time in close to 20 years. It's alright. Maybe not as good as it was in my memory but it's got some really nice moments and some good songs. True, it has other moments that seem conspicuously amateurish but overall - thumbs up.
