shareI've ordered stuff from amazon.co.uk (Britain) and amazon.fr (France) using my username and password from amazon.com. It works fine.
The trouble now is that it seems out of print or that amazon.de are not carrying it anymore. I saw a couple of copies being sold by German "marketplace" sellers for around 25 euros, shipping to the US was another 15.50 euros. Now you're ending up with a DVD that costs close to US$60.
Also, you would need a region-free player (or one that could be made region-free) which can convert PAL to NTSC for playback. I know most recent Philips DVD players can do this, and instructions on how to make them region free are available at places like videohelp.com.
It is available through Turner Classic Movies' website. It is part of the Warners Vault Collection. It was released as a DVD in 2011.
Everyone should own this DVD for a lifetime of viewing. But only if you enjoy a wondrous story, with quiet but powerful acting, and an actual adult film for adults who appreciate the humor and ultimate sadness of life. This probably leaves out 99% of current movie audiences. Too bad.

This film is currently available under the title "Water & Frank" in Germany and can be purchased on Amazon or Ebay. I believe it is shortly getting an official release in Australia, also, so I think I'll hold out and get that one.
shareHmmm. I was working in Australia last year and a couple of my co-workers purchased movie DVDs there and they didn't work in their DVD player here.. not sure if that will affect your decision or if you know something they didn't. Anyway, thanks so much for responding.

I today watched it on Netflix Instant View.
Although Netflix has it available on Instant View they do not have it available on DVD which seems to indicate area 1 DVD is not available.
Wrestling Ernest Hemingway is now avaiable at the Warner Archive store online on dvd for 19.95.
