they didn't acknowledge "Unsolved Mysteries" which IMO played a crucial part in helping this poor family

Unsolved mysteries wasn't mentioned

In real life:
The family lived in the ST. Louis area of MO.
their names were Patty, David, Ryan and David Jr. Stallings


I remember the first run of the movie and something was mentioned about UM when it was rerun on lifetime networks that scene was strangely cut. I'm not sure of UM's impact it seems that Patty's second attorney helped clear the way for the truth to come out but perhaps he became aquainted with her case though UM.
