yeah that's a good question is that movie how they met each other ?

According to Leonard Maltins movie and video guide it was filmed approxamately 3 years bfore it was released. This leads me to believe that the movie wasn't really that hard or expensive to make even though it involved a lot of pyrotechnic special effects and it "sat on the shelf" for 3 years because most of the people involved in the production knew it would be a "BOMB" as somebody like Maltin would describe it. Then a few years later they released it cinematically anyway simply because (very much like a bad video game endeavor) they felt that they could'nt afford not to put sub-par film on the market to at least try and earn back some of the money that had been wasted creating it.
It is very important to remember that even when a film is refered to as a "B movie" or low budget a lot of times it may still cost minimum several million U.S. dollars to produce (that's more finances and salary than most of the worlds poulation earns individually in a lifetime !!!) Perhaps they would have been better off if they just went directly to video and cable pay-TV even though DVD optical format didn't exist at the time. I'm sorry but I can't see why this was published on laser disc.

Comparing the dates of the two IMDb pages below shows that the movie was released 17 months after filming wrapped -- the period from 18 March 1992 to 20 August 1993. Still that's a longer wait than most small budget movies have.

The theater gross receipts were only $84,859 in the US.
