Especially with the mom still in it, I get they didn't want her becoming a joke at her funeral, but just watching that family let their their own mom burn in a fire is too disturbing! Plus, where would they live now?
shareWell, the mum passed away. I don't agree with cremation, but her body burning was nothing more than creating a loved one, only the family did it and not licensed people. I'm guessing the family split up. That's what Depp's character suggested at the end. They probably got money from the destroyed property or sold it.
