Did Betty Carver kill her husband?

I don't think it's ever confirmed if she did or not.

I personally don't think she did it. I remember she asked Gilbert if he thought she did it and he said no. She smiled at him as if it were some sort of relief for her to know Gilbert didn't think that way. I could be wrong, but that's my take on it.

It's a mystery line of a story. In the real world it's what gossip is made of.
