How much time passed between this movie and the first one?

if not one then i would think 2 days. because they had to get back to new york, and identify the body

Friday(they go to Bernie's), Saturday(At Bernie's)*, Sunday(Larry and Richard go their respective ways), Monday(off because it's Labor Day), Tuesday (work starts)**
