Weekend at Bernie's 3 News!

According to celebrity journalist Baird Jones, all systems are go for "Weekend at Bernie's 3" -- and the next chapter of the drag-the-dead-boss around series will take place in Las Vegas.

In the flick, stars Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman visit Vegas for a bachelor party where they end up meeting Bernie's identical twin brother, Ernie, a Mafia boss ("The Sopranos"' Big Pussy, Vincent Pastore, is being wooed for a role).

Predictably, Ernie dies, and mayhem ensues. Filming is expected to take place in Vegas next spring and summer.

then why is it not listed on IMDB?

reply

I heard about this shooting in Vegas a while ago but I guess production was stopped.

reply

as much as i would like it they are not and will never make a weekend at bernies 3

reply

bet me? Bernie's 3 .....yes.

reply

Bernie 3 must be! :)

reply

If it is his twin then why is Vincent Pastore being wooed for the role??

reply

I believe what the poster above indicated is that Vincent Pastore is being wooed for "a" role, not "the" role, although admittedly the post is a bit confusing. In any event, I can't find anything on the making of a Weekend at Bernie's III (just saw the original film today), so if anyone has a link to any news items that this film is actually being made, that would be helpful. Cheers!

I have the script too.. no, really I do! It's fantastic! It's beyond fantastic, it's uber-fantastic! No, really! What, it's only been about 14 or 15 years since the sequel, which noone really liked anyway, so it's about 18 years since the original..? No, really, it is! It's fantastic! Anyway.. so noone really remembers it. No, really they don't! Spread the word -----

Hehe! That's funny. Actually, a lot of sequels and remakes get made that are decades after their originals (especially remakes, of course). I have no idea why studios do this, though. The purpose of a sequel, from a financial standpoint, is to get the money from the built-in audience. No on seems to care that they're rarely as good as the movies that came before them. So, I'm wondering why it happens years after the fact. Are screenwriters just out of original ideas?

reply

It seems that when there is a slump in the movie business, they "REMAKE" a title. I don't want to say that they "remake the movie", because it isn't the movie they are remaking. Necessarily!
Let's face it, when a movie title is remade, why does it always seem to be one that was a hit before?
Why don't they remake one of the movies that sucked the first time? The second time around, fix it!

Now, I know that "The Maltese Falcon" is a classic, but part of the movie was poorly edited. Remaking this movie WITH BETTER EDITINIG might be an idea. But who could replace Bogart, or Lorre.., or anyone else? Just the idea of it, is absurd!

"Just because I'm moody, doesn't mean you're not irritating!"

reply

Yeah right. I wish though. Either that or a remake.

reply

So nine years later I think it's safe to say III won't be made :D

reply

So 13 years later its pretty safe to say it wont be made

reply

2 years later, prob wont be made, although our new fake president is doing a good job playing the part of Bernie.
