At first I thought it was gonna blow (the review), because I'd never heard of the guy he was suppsoed to be imitating. But it turned out all right.

Imitating? The man is a comedian, he's hilarious. Spot on about what he reviews, We're Back is no exception. That movie is a bad LSD trip.

He was imitating Hunter S. Thompson, insane journalist extrordinaire.
Good review, but boy, it was hard to watch. Every bit of animation won't stand still, the designs and expressions are ass-ugly, the voices are irritating and ... ugh.

That clown shoulda gotten his own movie, though. You heard that right:

I couldn't sit through the review. I was 1 minute into it and had to stop watching. I thought the NC was going to do his usual review, but he tried to impersonate Hunter S. Thompson and really didn't do a good job at it. Don't get me wrong, I know who Hunter S. Thompson is, and I remember this movie quite well (in spite of it seeming like a bad acid trip), but it just wasn't one of his better ones.

The only other time I stopped watching a Nostalgia Critic review was when he paired up with the Nostalgia Chick in the Ferngully review. Hopefully he won't attempt to do this again and realize that sometimes change is very bad.

I had the exact same problem. Nostalgia Critic has the right to impersonate whoever he wants, but I thought the Thompson impersonation was not only an epic fail, it was annoying to listen to.

The Nostalgia Critic has a decent enough schtick going and I often enjoy his online show; however, if I want to see someone play the lysergic cartoon caricature people mistake for Hunter S. Thompson the brilliant writer, I will rent Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and watch Johnny Depp do it and do it well. This review was unwatchable.

He was very, very funny. I think the only way you might say otherwise is if you were offended that he pissed on your precious little piss poor animated crap-fest.

The thing I always dislike about the Nostalgia Critic are his fans. Seriously, the Nostalgia Critic could easily do a review on many Disney movies, and he could probably convince some of his fanbase that Disney movies were never that great too begin with. I see people hate on some of the Pixar movies, so it's easily possible.

Gotta admire him for that disclaimer in the beginning though, like he was aware that certain people wouldn't necessarily connect with this particular review.

Still thought it was funny, and he mixed it up.

That review was gold. And who was that intriguing character the Nostalgia critic was filling in as ?
