Backstage worker at Aerosmith concert

Did anybody know why that security guy wouldn't let Wayne and Garth enter that backstage party area. They had valid passes and the guy had nothing to gain by not letting them in. I don't think Bobby could have had anything to do with it either since he had only met them seconds ago. It made sense why Bobby was banned from entering at the end of the movie but I didn't get it here.
