Liked it more than Original

I quoted the hell out of this movie and the first Wayne's World with my friends all through high school. A couple of months ago I was watching the original Wayne's World with my gf who hadn't seen it. It just wasn't funny anymore to me and she was so unimpressed I knew I wouldn't be able to convince her to sit down for Wayne's World 2.
Caught Wayne's World 2 on TV 2 days ago, laughed my ass off all over again.... can't believe it only has a user rating of 5.8 on imdb. I gave it 8.

Anyone else feel that the sequel is better than the original?

there is alot of buzz on this board about liking the sequel better, that actually happens... think about it, "addams family values". farley steals every scene he's in, i dont know how he does it. the two waynes world movies always air together, so i can't say really what happens in which, but i have actually gotten hooked on all the catch phrases. i find it funny that the plot i read describes them being teenagers, so i guess the girls around them are in their 20s and 30s, the girls can't be teens i figure since marriage is involved in the story.

in the darkened sky black birds fly,
sign of death and upcoming heartache times,
the sunny times i had, can't believe its the same street,
all transformed since you were here with me,
but i got to keep roaming through these eerie days,
until the lord calls me away,
though youre no longer in these arms of mine,
through the years i hold you close in mind,
in a painting of magical times,
before the sun went out of the sky,
where these black birds circle around.

They were 20 something. They seemed like a couple of early to mid 20 year olds to me.

As a kid, I sort of liked the original, but I didn't totally "get it." 2 didn't seem quite as good, but I watched it more and found myself quoting it more than the original. Strange.

Ah yes, it's a lot like Star Trek: The Next Generation. In many ways it's superior but will never be as recognized as the original.

Point them with the sticky end.

It's like people only do these things because they can get paid. And that's just really sad

WW2 is significantly better. Way more gags played with greater confidence.

Del Preston instantly takes it to the next level, and that’s before we even mention Christopher Fucking Walken, Kevin Pollak’s albino eye, Swedish Drew Barrymore, Handsome Dan and Mr Scream, the legendary dubbed Kung-Fu battle with James Wong, Charlton Heston, Chris Farley, Kim Basinger, The Tool Box, the melon guys ‘Come men, our work here is done’. I’ll stop because there’s too much awesome to mention.

It’s like they gave Myers the keys to the kingdom this time and he ultra-delivered. People are still attached to the original, and it’s charming and funny, but WW2 is a full blown comedy classic no bullshit.
