Did I see a badly edited version, or . . .

was it really that bad to begin with? It just seemed like things kept happening with no rhyme or reason and no hint of a timeline. John and Ann meet--oops, now they're madly in love--oops, now this otherwise seemingly level-headed, decent woman has gone from "broken up with Michael" to "engaged to Michael" without so much as a pause in between--not even to break up with the guy she's been seeing . . . and so on. I mean, I know it's not the kind of movie with a lot of character development, etc., but . . . it still should have SOMETHING to tie things together.
