Visiteurs/Visitors/Ju st Visiting

Does anyone know whether the Region 1 DVD 'The Visitors' is a rerelease of 'Les Visiteurs' or a rerelease of the (dire) remake 'Just Visiting'? All the product listings I've seen say it's in English, but imdb seems to say that 'The Visitors' is another title for 'Les Visiteurs'... :(
Can anyone shed any light on this?

"Les Visiteurs" is the original movie. It's made by the French, naturally in French.
The Visitors or Just Visiting is the American remake, but the main characters (the Conte and his servant) are played by the same actors (just a little older). Although the subject is identical, the two movies have some differences. They are both very funny to watch. The French movie had English subtitles.
Both movies were released on DVD.

I own both "The Visitors" and "Just Visiting" on VHS. They are two different movies.

"The Visitors" -the version that I have - is "Les Visiteurs" with English subtitles. It specificially says it is subtitled on the back, so I'd look for that version if you want to be sure you're not getting the remake. The only English heard in the entire movie is in the opening scenes with the French king and the English lady. Otherwise it's original French audio with "yellow subtitles" (the box felt the need to mention that.) I have a VHS, however, and cannot speak for the DVDs.

"Just Visiting" is a different movie, the American remake which occurs in Chicago and has Christina Applegate -- along with the original two "Les Visiteurs" actors.

Sorry to be confusing - summary - "Just Visiting" is the remake. "The Visitors" is just the English title of the original French film.

And of course as I'm hitting post I realize how old this question is... sorry :P

Also can confirm that the DVD sold as "The Visitors" is in fact a subtitled version of the original French Film titled "Les Visiteurs".

However, if you can, try to purchase a DVD version of "Les Visiteurs", rather than the easier-to-find "The Visitors", as the subtitles in the latter are really Americanised and very poor compared to the original English subtitling of the movie.
