Rated R in America?

Where in this film does it once mention the F word? I thought the language was quite tame.

there were many f-bombs dropped, this movie awoke me to the dexterity of the f-word

I'd rather be a fake somebody, than a real nobody- Tom Ripley

I think sometimes the subtitle people get carried away. The f word is a serious swear, I don't recall serious swearing in this film.

Lmao, again, it's like I just said on another thread, it Yanks being bl**dy stupid again, or 'daft' as the Scooootish would deem them. No offence to Yanks, but they are stupid, and way too frequent with the censorship button.

It's like comparing Whose Line Is It Anyway US with Whose Line Is It Anyway UK, there's no comparison. We can make insane references to male genitalia at 3pm when Granny's are sitting watching with slices of madiera cake and Twinings tea, yet if the word c*ck is even THOUGHT about on television there, law suits are probably brought into action.

Another fine example of this, perhaps more frequent and fresh in people's minds.
Friday Night With Johnathon Ross, BBC1, this last past Friday night.
Russell Brand, Ronnie Corbett (two amazing British exports) and Ashton Kutcher were on the show.
I love all three (Russell Brand, Ronnie Corbett, and then Ashton, in that order, though), but the humour from the British exports compared to Ashton, who's American, was so stark it was blinding. Ashton was embarrased when Johnathon asked him a question about bu***ng animals at the beginning of the show, whereas Russell quite comfortably said he'd screw a flamingo, because they're womanly, curvaceous, and just asking for it.

I fully agree.

Haha x.

I didn't understand the rating either. Does the F-word automatically bring an "R" rating? The only other thing I can think of from the movie is that for like 10 seconds we see Lemercier wearing a bra . . . and we sort of see a guy's butt when he gets a shot. To me it seemed much more worthy of PG-13.

It's the couple scenes of bloody violence, not the cussing that are undoubtedly the reason for the R rating. A guy gets his head lopped off and arrows get embedded in foreheads, not very realistically I'll grant you, but there it is.
