Series Timeline

There are 6 Anime Episodes / Chapters from this series so far:
Urotsukidoji.01.Legend.of.the.Overfiend
Urotsukidoji.02.Legend.of.the.Demon.Womb
Urotsukidoji.03.Return.of.the.Overfiend
Urotsukidoji.04.Inferno.Road
Urotsukidoji.05.The.Final.Chapter
Urotsukidoji: New Saga

Anyone knows the timeline of the whole series? I was watching Urotsukidoji.02.Legend.of.the.Demon.Womb the other night and found out it's not a follow up of the first episode. It's kind of confusing....

And for those who are adults and can appreciate this series more than porn anime (aka. sci-fi horror with adult scenes), watch the uncut version as the edited version cut out important scenes and made the whole thing fragmented and incomplete.

Ok, I have watched the entire saga and I can tell you how it all fits together.

The first Urotsukidoji (Legend of the Overfiend) is wildly regarded as the best one. It contains OVA episodes 1 through 3 and introduces the characters as it unfolds into an apocalyptic end of the world story.

The second one, 'Legend of Demon Womb' are OVA episodes 4 and 5 and are considered as an interqual to 'Legend of the Overfiend'. Ill explain this more. Basically the events in Urotsukidoji.02 are meant to take place somewhere inbetween the events of Urotsukidoji.01.

It is debated among fan's when 'Demon Womb' takes place within 'Legend of the Overfiend'. Many fan's believe that 'Demon Womb' takes place after Nagumo kills Nikki; and that the scene in which Nagumo cries to Akemi in the locker room takes place after 'Demon Womb' and his battle with his cousin Takeaki. But I don't agree with this theory. I believe 'Demon Womb' takes place, after Nikki turned evil, but before he kidnapped Akemi from the apartment...I'm suggesting that Nikki was an existing, but lingering bad guy while the events of 'Demon Womb' took place. But he didn't strike until after the event's of Demon Womb. This also suggests that Amano's battle with Suikakaju takes place after the events of 'Demon Womb'. Evidence for my theory are that Nagumo completely forgot about his battle with Takeaki, so there would be no logic behind him crying over his cousin in the locker room. Also, the scene in which Nikki is having sex with many women infront of a many camera's is the only scene in which i can place a time gap between all the main characters. Days or weeks could of transpired after the events of that scene. Thus, Nikki wouldn't bother them until after the events of 'Demon Womb'. But thats just my take on it.

'The Legend of Demon Womb' does serve an important plot purpose other than rehashing and expanding on the main characters. It introduces the most promenant villan in the series 'Münchhausen'. A human of the nazi party who has a big role in the rest of the series. 'Demon Womb' also introduces the concept of the anti-god that will defeat the Chojin, Kyo-O or 'The Mad Regent'

The third Urotsukidoji, 'Return of the Overfiend' is the followup of 'Legend Of the Overfiend'. It is set in the apocayptic world of the three worlds merging. The Real Chojin has been born and gives Amano the task of destroying Kyo-O/The Mad Regent. It contains OVA episodes 6,7,8 and 9. The animation is no where near as good as the first two Urotsukidoji's but the story is very good.

The fourth Urotsukidoji, "Infero Road' continues where 'Return of the Overfiend ' left off. The animation is even worse and the story is not as good as 'Return'. It contains OVA episodes 10, 11 and 12. The first two episodes don't progress the plot much, the main characters are stuck in 'The City In The Fog'. A cruel city, in which children with psycic powers brutally rule over the adults. They force the adults to hold orgies in front of them and create more children. OVA episodes 10 and 11 were banned outright in many countries, such as Britian and Australia, but there is an english verion made by Anime 18 in the United States. Britian was merely given a heavily edited version of OVA episode 12 to conclude the series. Despite episode 10 and 11 having very little impact on the plot, it serves two important points to the story. It allows the viewer to delve more into the twisted post apocalyptic world of Urotsukidoji. It also helps the viewer answer the question on wether it is Kyo-O or The Chojin that is evil. OVA episode 12- End Of The Journey, concludes the series officially.

Urotsukidoji V The Final Chapter is an unofficial sequal released as a single OVA episode, it was never completed and Urotsukidoji IV-Inferno Road is the last one in the saga. 'The Final Chapter' was based on an alternate ending of IV. Unoffically Urotsukidoji V reveals that the Chojin in 'Return' and "Inferno' was not infact the real chojin, but a Makai/Demon using the power of the Chojin's Temple for its gain. After the Makai is defeated the unofficial 'Real' Chojin emerges and unleashes a army of hermaphrodite cyborgs who are commanded to exterminate all four of the other species, The Humans, Demons, Man-Beasts and the Makamono (demon beasts). This what-if chapter has so much potential. If it was completed and IV had not ended the way it did, this Urotsukidoji would have been so epic!

But as its stands, Urotsukidoji IV is the last chapter in the original series. The Chojin in 'Return of the Overfiend' and 'Infero Road' was the REAL Chojin.

Urotsuki: New Saga is a reimagining, retelling, sequel to the original series and expands on the first OVA episode. There is a theory that it is a continuation of 'Infero Road' based on what happened at the end of Urotsukidoji IV.

I hope this helps. :)

Unofficially, this would be the series timeline for me...

New Saga takes place in the reincarnated world at the end of Inferno Road, with the original cut ending of IV and the events of V being a bad dream Amano has at some point in New Saga.
