How to dub it
Questions:
1. Who should the voice actors be?
2. How should the conversation about the Kochi and Tokyo accents be sorted out?
3. What should be on the cover of the DVD?
4. Should it even be dubbed at all?
In all truth, they could never dub it and I would be perfectly happy with that. The movie is perfect the way it is, and honestly, it's just so damned Japanese that I can't think of it having the same sort of effect in English. The usual crowd that won't watch things unless they're dubbed would probably be bored by this anyway (not to stereotype...^^;;).
shareI'm more a fan of dubbed over subbed, but really... in this film, the subs don't detract from the film at all. It might be different if every scene had masses of background detail scenery to take in or an abundance of dialogue, but they don't.
In my opinion, a film as slow paced as this can get by perfectly well without dubbing... and I mean that in a good way!
