Tomomi Mochizuki is a better director than Goro Miyazaki
At least based on Mochizuki's work here with Ocean Waves, and Goro Miyazaki's work on From Up on Poppy Hill.
I wouldn't go that far! :) They are both wonderful films, but they are difficult to compare. Poppy Hill has much more gorgeous artwork, but Ocean Waves has much more realistic characters.
