Melora Walters (possible spoiler)

I know Melora Walters is credited as both the stripper and the funeral director, but is she playing two characters or is the same character supposed to be leading an interesting double life? I suppose it’s the former, but her mannerisms were so similar that it was hard to be certain.

If it’s the latter, I would have preferred the irony of her working for a bereaved Holiday (instead of Adams) family, since she helped break up their wedding in the first place.

My people skills are fine. It's my tolerance of morons that needs work.

I think the stripper and the funeral director are meant to be the same person. Back in the 1990's the recession hit pretty hard and thus a sizable volume of people had to work a second part-time job in order to make ends meet. So the Walters character popping up in two different stories working in entirely separate professions serves as an inspired bit of social commentary about the tough economic climate of that era forcing folks to do whatever they had to do just to keep themselves afloat.
