Does anyone have any idea why Stanley and Gnorga were the only trolls with magic thumbs? I think Stanley was related to Gnorga but still why only them?

I treated it as troll had to be extremely good or evil to have magic thumbs.

I could never get through the entire movie because it was literally hurting my brain with how awful it was, but I will offer this: Perhaps the other trolls did have magic thumbs (unless specifically stated that those two were the only ones) and it was just not necessary to show it?
