No you are not alone! I remember when great TV movies were always on instead of crappy sitcoms taking over their time slots. I do recall this movie with trememdous fondness as I am a big fan of the late great Jessica Tandy. She was a beautiful, graceful actress with a warm and sincere smile. Mr. Cronyn conveyed an equal amount of sympathy in his acting, as well, and together they gave us such an enormous amount of chemistry. I loved this movie as we are brought into their love, just like we saw in Cocoon and Batteries Not Included.

Oh, good! ^^ Yes, I agree with you entirely. It's such a lovely film and they're so very good in it.

Gee, I wish I had found this message board sooner!!

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! It is my most favorite movie of all time. I know exactly when I am going to cry (I bought the video) and I play it over and over and over.......

I used this movie once as a "clue" when I was registering on my credit union website and when I forgot my password, the lady on the phone said "you named a movie with a long title as your favorite movie, but I never heard of it before". POOR, POOR LADY!!

I am so excited that you love this movie, too.

That's awesome!!
This movie is so wonderful. I rented it from Blockbuster because it looked sad, and pretty, and there was a beautiful dog on the cover so I knew it would be great. I was SO impressed and I bought the DVD 'cause I had to own it. Too bad it's not well known! It has to be one of the best movies ever.

when i saw that movie for the first time, i was greatly impressed and touched to my heart!!! its my favorite movie since then & i really want to have it, to watch it whenever i feel the need, but sadly i havent found it anywhere... & the weirdest thing is, that nobody seems to have heard of (not to mention, seen) this movie... BUT I LOVE IT!!!! :)

I know! No one seems to know of it.
I found it at a Blockbuster and rented it once.
Then I bought it from Amazon.com because I loved it so much.
Hope you find it.

Seriously..that was some pretty darn nice racing out there. BY ME!

One of my favorite movies! I saw it when I was younger and cried and watch it today and still cry. Hume and Jessica are so sweet together in this movie.

I really liked this movie too. Saw it when it was on TV as a Hallmark movie. When it came out on VHS I bought it years ago. just pulled it out and played it tonight. Very nice story. Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy were great as usual. the dog was great too! why didn't the dog get credit in the cast?

I love this movie too! I haven't seen it since I was a kid, even though I now own a copy. I'm waiting to have a girlie night and watch this and 'Life is beautiful', we'll need boxes of tissues by the end of those two! If anyone hasn't seen Life is beautiful I highly recommend it! It's just as touching as To Dance with the White Dog.

ps - baby kitty - I found my copy a few months ago on ebay. It's expensive compared to most dvds, but I think you'd agree that its definately worth it! Also, if you can't buy it there, try the hallmark dvd website.
Good luck :)

Oh, I saw "Life is Beautiful" in my AP European History class. It was also brutally moving.

I absolutely LOVE this movie! I am SO glad that I found it again! Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy are just lovely in this! I miss them both and Don Ameche as well!!!

This is the epitomy of a great movie!! Brings tears to your eyes even if you don't cry at movies!

This is one of their two movies that I have a hard time re-watching. In "Foxfire" he is a ghost who is brought back to her life because she can't let him go. In this movie he keeps bringing her back. She was barely able to make this movie as she was terminal. In one of the extras he is looking at her trying to hold the tears back. Such love they shared! That is what makes it so hard to watch again. The movies they made together were so hard to watch. Another movie hard to watch is when he gives his life force to her in "Cocoon 2".

I can't believe its been 19 years since this movie was on TV. That's the last time I saw it. I was talking with my wife and now she wants to see it again.

You were all soooo, so right!! 8''-} These movies with them together are achingly beautiful and bittersweet, almost to the point of being difficult to watch...yet very, very worth it. Sheer magic, onscreen and in reality.

I only saw this once when it first aired on tv. It moved me and touched me so so much. Just saying the name of the movie chokes me up. Trying not to cry as I'm typing this!
