Chemistry
I have seen this movie years ago, and I just thought that the chemistry between Connie and Joe are stronger (like in the wedding reception scene) than with Ellen and Joe, although Connie prefers women.
Just a weird thought. =)
Really old, dead board, but I'll respond to this anyway. I thought Joe and Connie had really great chemistry as well. I think some viewers (based on reviews) thought they were going to end up together although I never thought that as she was a lesbian. But if she weren't a lesbian, I would have said her and Joe would be a cute couple. I loved their friendship throughout the movie.
