October DVD release was not true

Blame on Paramount who announced the DVD release for October 26th. It wasn't relelased. Not only that: all info disappeared from both Paramount and DVD Empire web sites.
Apart from being a good movie, I bet there's a lot of fans of Phoenix, Bullock and Mathis just waiting for this release. I can not understand why Paramount canceled it. It just seems so stupid. Paramount executives, if you read this, please change your mind and deliver it soon, it's years that we are waiting for this DVD release.
To anyone reading this and having fresher news: please share with us and keep us updated.
Does anyone know an email address to Paramount in order to let them know we are waiting for this. Thanks

i am so glad to know that i am not the only one that was very angry at paramount for this terrible decision. I couldn't believe that not only was it not released, all the information was gone, like it had never been there. well, god only knows when we'll get this amazing movie on dvd, but hopefully something like this never happens again. (my own private idaho is coming soon...maybe this one will follow)

Don't worry. Paramount is working on it. It is being cut according to the Director's version for the DVD release. The film negatives have been telecined and a rough cut has been sent for approval. That's all I can say for now. When it has been made public news, I will direct you guys to the company web site in charge with the DVD release.

If you don't believe me, I don't care. I can only say, I see the film negatives everyday.

Of course nothing is certain for the length of time for the release because you all know how iffy Hollywood can get...

LeonPro,

Thanks for the update! Any chance there will be a director's commentary on the DVD as well?

I am not provided any information as well, but I can tell you that I've seen the director come in and out of the post production studio. I would surmise it would be unthinkable to have a release without production comments, but then again with the length of time it already had to have this out on DVD - I don't know how much funding they want to put into it. Maybe they want to test the waters first and simply release a DVD then if the sales are good the funding could be used for that "Special Edition".

Thanks for the information. I've been watching the recently released special edition of Bringing Up Baby starring Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn. It has a very nice and insightful commentary by the director of The Thing Called Love, Peter Bogdanovich which got me to wondering if he do a commentary on the DVD for this film. It would seem that he'd have a lot to share about the making of this film. Any idea when they're thinking about releasing the DVD?
