Was there ever a soundtrack released with River + cast singing?

I'd love to have that CD if there is one?!

in 1999 I went to a screening that had a Q & A with Peter Bogdanovich. I asked the question, would they ever release a soundtrack with the cast? He said there was never an intention to. But that was 11 years ago! So maybe we'll be lucky in 2013 for 20th anniversary?

They released a soundtrack back in the day. I remember having it and listening to it every day.

I don't think any movie comes close to collection SO many bad singers and putting them all in one movie. I cut them all some slack in the beginning as they are actors and not singers, but couldn't they have found at least ONE person who can sing? What makes it worse is that in the middle of the movie you hear a GREAT singer performing (Pam Tillis) which makes all of the actors sound even worse.

I'd hate to hear your taste in music if Pam Tillis is considered excellent by you...she's one of the worst in the country music scene.

Are you talking about the Pam Tillis who has three platinum albums and has hit the top 20 with twenty of her singles? The one who won best female vocalist at the CMA's (1994)?

Sorry, but I loved River's voice, Although Kyle didn't have the best voice (dermont does have a decent voice and he has sounded better in several roles.) Samantha didn't sound bad. I actually thought her voice was pretty in Big Dream. Keep in mind, they were portraying song writers, not necessarily singers. They were kinda doing the open mic night thing, and it didn't have to be fantastic singing. Believe it or not, some people love just writing the songs. They don't necessarily want to be the artist that performs them. For example, Kyle got joy just from hearing others perform his songs. James wanted the whole package, and Maranda wanted to find herself.
