Poor Linda Lue

I used to watch this movie all the time and then I watched it again after a few years and I came to this conclusion...I totally feel sorry for Linda Lue cos all the other characters are moody, snotty pricks...even KT Oslin!

No wonder she leaves at the end, what with Miranda dogging her up all the time and everyone else crying into their beers!

And then I feel sorry for that Billy bloke cos Linda Lue strings him along like a lost puppy!

All that and I still love this movie!

A friend of mine went to Nashville and shouted "Lookout music city, cos I'm here now and I ain't never leavin'!". People looked at him like he was a spazmo or something. Saying that, if I ever went to Nashville I would shout it too!

LOL I WANNA DO THAT TOO!!!! Lol don't you think when River Phoenix does it, it looks REALLY awkward......lol, it looks way more natural with Samantha.

Ahh yeah, sometimes I feel sorry for Linda Lue too. You call Kyle a moody snotty prick?! Generally, I think he's the sweetest character in the film, followed by Linda Lue, then Miranda, then KT Oslin, then Trisha Yearwood, then Billy....and we can just GUESS who is the moodiest little thing to ever hit Nashville.

To me, all Billy was trying to do was to get inside Linda Lue's pants. And Miranda was mean to her in the beginning, but then they really got along great. Personally, I wish Linda Lue and Kyle would have gotten together. They were perfect for each other. Or maybe Miranda and Kyle. I dunno. But, despite the sweetness of the other characters to me, and to this thing going around of him being on drugs during the filming of this movie, James is my favorite.

Kyle was very melancholy in the movie...that makes him moody I guess. I laugh so hard when he sings "I Can't Understand". It's like he's not really trying or embarrassed to be doing it. I've got a friend who sings like that. If he's trying to describe a song to you he'll go "You know, that song that goes..." and proceeds to half sing it through is nose. Yeah, when James does "Lookout music city..." he's falling about all over the place...great delivery though.

I read about River being doped up whilst filming and other people saying that he made sure that he was only doped up in his free time. Maybe his bizarre performance is down to the effects of cold turkey!?

Heh, I honestly have no idea with the River and rugs situation with this film. I know for the one he was about to complete but didn't, he was totally clean, and Samantha said he was clean for this movie, but yet, I doubt it. He definitely does not have that grace following him in this one.

Aww I love it when Kyle sings that song! Dermot should never sing ever again aha. He sounds like he's trying to be country on purpose

My girlfriend at the time loved this movie too and I used to make her laugh by mimicking Kyle's performance. "Ah Kaint Urnderstayand...."

Not all song writters want to be singers, but you can't get your songs out there without singing them. Kyle knew he couldn't really sing which is why he had Miranda sing on the demmo for Trisha Yearwood.I like that this movie let the actors really sing the songs they were meant too unlil "Coyote Ugly" which used LeAnne to voice the main character. Having song writters without the best voices makes it more realistic.

Awww, yes! I can't believe that you guys think just like me: I also love Kyle singing :) Don't you think that especially when doing Streets of Love, he looks and sings like some really bad Elvis imitator? That's so great! :)

I would definitely love to shout the Watch out music city thing if I should ever come to Nashville (and I desperately want to - go to the Bluebird Café and everything; maybe also to Graceland and shout "Eeelviis!!").

I don't know about River's drug habit, and I don't think I really ought to know, it's a personal problem which has been discussed way too much already. However, I think he was so great in the movie. I love how goofy he plays the character; making James like behaving the coolest, but inside, he's not. I love the scene where he is talking to Miranda after their performance of Blame it on your heart, and he knocks his knee at the tree! That's a really great one, and I always wonder whether that was in the script, or was it improvised? It seems to be. Or maybe it was just an accident :)

I'd love to go to Nashville and shout out 'look out music city....' too, how cool would that be?

I know! She was so funny and lovable. I hated it when Miranda was being such a bitch to her at first. Linda was just being friendly, and we can use more people like that. And at the end when she kisses Kyle and says "you could've had me" or whatever, I felt so bad. He spent all that time chasing after a girl he knew he couldn't have and totally ignored Linda. I mean they had to have known each other for awhile so I don't get how he was so oblivious. And she and Billy didn't even seem to have a real loving relationship.

My favorite character by far. But I'm not sorry for her, she's going to Hollywood and be a star, after all! She's actually saying it in the movie. I love that scene!
