Addams Family Values was being released about 6 months after this movie and both TMNT 3 and Addams Family were productions of Paramount.. TMNT 3 was a golden harvest production (works in part of Paramount) i guess it was an ironic plug for Addams family Values, which in turn was marketed to death to ensure profit. I guess not only was it an inside joke for film industry folk but also for an audience whom were looking forward to seeing the sequal. Addams Family Values cost twice as much as TMNT 3 (40+million) so this was important for them to get Addams Family back into peoples consciousness's.
Watching it today i can understand why people don't get it. The movie as a whole though was pretty rubbish.
That's exactly what I felt about that line, jimjamjames. Now, I saw this movie in theaters (both this and Addams Family Values) and I didn't think it was so bad.

one i can think of was when april asked one of the turtles (i think michaelangelo): "what's splinter doing?" and he answered: "i don't know, uh...rat stuff?".
it was SO BAD i cracked up laughing at it!!!!
I forget the line because it was so awful, but April said to Warlord like "Stop the macho stuff." or something absurd. I was like, you gotta be kidding me. Paige Turco, in this anyway, is pretty awful.
