Why use Koteas for 2 different (not connected) roles?

What exactly was the purpose of this??? The characters were seemingly unrelated or did I miss something?

If it was to show that that was Casey's ancestor, it is still incredibly stupid. And the medieval character was also obviously bad, while Casey in the present is supposed to be good. WHHHHHHYYYYY?

I own you.

Koteas probably wouldn't have signed on as Casey only got a small amount of screentime in this. Playing two roles in both time periods meant he would have worked most of the production schedule and thus made more money.

Hm, may be. But I thought the period character was lame.

Oh most definitely. It's one of the fatal flaws of the films. Let's bring back Casey Jones but instead of having him kick ass like in the first film, let's leave him behind and reduce him to a comedic relief babysitter who gets barely anything to do and no interaction with April whatsoever albeit one shot at the end when they're laughing. A complete waste.

I think it was a plot device. The only reason April trusted Wit, and freed him was because he looked just like Casey. Otherwise he was one of Walkers men, so she would not have let him out, to follow them.

That's what I figure is the case. I just think of Whit as Casey's ancestor.
