Swing Heil - Oh Captain, My Captain

the movie itself was very similar to Dead Poet's Society. You had a kid who discovers something that makes him more creative (poetry/swing) and you have a force trying to stop them and make them change. In Dead Poet's Society it was the school board trying to make them stop doing poetry or the arts and in Swing Kids it was the Nazi Regime trying to stop them from listening to swing so they can become better....Nazis? Then you have the suicide death of the main character's friend which is the catalyst for the main character's final actions/stand against authority. Then you have the catch phrase which are very similar.

It is definitely not a complete rip off of Dead Poet's Society but structurally speaking and the use of the same main actor definitely makes for easy comparisons.
