Perplexed


Uuuuh, that's the guy who sells Allstate and, well, he's black. So far in this movie no one seems to notice. Usually movies are very race conscious. But if this movie wants to use the races interchangeably, then that's cool with me.

There's a certain irony in the fact that the world in which the film takes place is race-blind, and yet it's shot in stark black and white...

I think our being perplexed is precisely the point, and invites us to consider the political subtext of the film
