I have recently purchased a Dutch copy of this movie in CD-I format at a second hand store, I found it under the title "Night Hunt" the only problem is that I don't have any system/game console that supports that format :( I really hope to find a copy of this movie in VHS or DVD format one day. I know it's available on DVD in the USA but since they use NTSC and in Europe we use PAL, it will such a dissapointment to find out it's still not watchable

I find it very strange that this BIG thing called the internet which contains a GAZILLION tons of information has very little information to go on for this movie, it's just like this movie has never exsisted :S

This is why regionless players are a Godsend. If you are a movie buff then spending $100-140 on a decent regionless is well worth it. There are many titles I would not have been able to enjoy without mine. The US DVD is now OOP as far as I know but still available for cheap. If you were willing to pick up a copy in some weird format because you like the movie so much then I would suggest ordering the American DVD until someday you get something you can play it on such as a computer or regionless player. I wouldn't mind seeing the cover of your copy though-didn't know that it was ever available in some weird format in the Netherlands. Are you Dutch? De Lift is one of my favorites. I bought it from the Netherlands just to finally see it in widescreen. Again, regionless players are a great investment. Believe me I know; I was frustrated for years that I couldn't watch cool obscure movies from other countries (even American films that just weren't on DVD here!) until I broke down and spent the $140. If you get a good one from a reputable company that has been reinforced with extra processing software and not just some cheap unit from Walmart that's been "hacked" it is well worth it. Always cool to see someone post on this board-it's a dusty room.

Cheers,

Jeff

Hello Jeff,

Thank you for informing on regionless DVD players after some searching I think I know a place where to get one of those, I also like to watch those obscure and cult films from the good old days they really don't make like that anymore.

I think I am very fortunate to have found european releases of movies because those are the ones that keep the entire movie intact, while USA releases cut out alot things to get a certain rating.

It's very awesome to read you like De lift, the director Dick Maas is a real American focussed director he has implemented alot of American things in his movies, although alot people here in the Netherlands I know just don't see it until I bring it up, a good example of American implementation can be seen in his Flodder movies and serie.

But I am going off track on the original post here I see :)

I think that survive the night was very little promoted and therefore forgotten somehow and that I have found a rare gem amongst rocks.

anyway I have uploaded the front and back of the cover and a booklet with instructions.

Maybe IMBD will use it as the cover for their information on this movie :)

Thanks for posting the cover! That is definitely '90's retro!

I have wanted to see the Flodder films for some time. However, all of the DVDs are in Dutch without subtitles. Even my De Lift DVD I watch in Dutch without English subtitles but I know basically what they are saying from having watched my dubbed American VHS so many times. I do have Amsterdamned on region 2 DVD which is British so it has English subtitles. Maas has a new film called Quiz out that I really want to see. I have read that many Dutch people speak English-I am surprised that more Dutch DVDs do not have English subtitles.

Anyway, thanks again for posting that cover. It was very cool to see it. These are movies long forgotten by time and the general population!

Best wishes for the holidays!

Jeff
