Surf Ninjas VS 3 Ninjas

3 ninjas! Surf ninjas was cool and everything (of course, i was 7 when it came out), but i remember the characters of 3 ninjas so much more. i can even remember their names: colt, tum-tum, and rocky..."rock loves emily!". the only name i remember from surf ninjas is iggy so i'm guessing i liked 3 ninjas better at the age of 7.

Surf Ninjas was definitly better. I rented this movie every weekend was I was a kid. Not only are they ninjas who do some kiss ass stuff, but you have a much better villian, rob snieder, who is hillarious in this movie, two reasons for revenge (the death of thier father and the sacking of patustan). The jokes are actually really funny, and there is the classic zero to hero line. And who wouldn't want to have special powers, a game gear, an asain crown, and a sweet ninja bodyguard. 3 ninjas did have grandpa, and the names are more memorable, but in the end, surf ninjas is much better. You never saw rocky carve a whole forrest into surf boards to surf across the ocean. And in the end of 3 ninjas, the FBI dad had to bail them all out. That was weak.

Assuming we're comparing Surf Ninjas to just the first 3 Ninjas movie and not their crappy sequels, then I still have to go with Surf Ninjas. I mean it has two of my favorite things in it: surfing and ninjas! Plus you got the awesome funny sidekick, Rob Schneider, whose Scottish paraplegic scene was hilarious! Then you got the Game Gear of Might! Kickin' @$$ with chopsticks, surfing Patusanis, Babaran, Zatch the Patch, Leslie Neilsen, who was also awesome as the villan, and last but certainly not least, the endoursment of the Ninja Turtles! Anybody have the video of the second or third (I forget which) Turtles movie? Michelangelo voices the trailer! Not to mention the acting. While not the best in the world, is completely enjoyable.

3 Ninjas, even though it has the mighty Grandpa, and the Ninjas themselves, plus an awesome Home Alone-esq part with the stoner kidnappers, doesn't really add up as much to Surf Ninjas. The villan is just a normal villan, who's quite loathable, the dad is dissagreeable too much, and the fact he has to bail everybody out at the end does not help the movie any. Rocky's girlfriend was a weak plot point too, I mean she just got upset at Rocky too much. The acting was good in this movie too, but when they changed the actors it just really went down the tubes. Especially in the case of Tum-Tum, who seemed to reverse age, and seemed all he did was eat all the time.

Yeah so my vote definitely goes to Surf Ninjas!

I really love both of them but Surf Ninjas definetly gets my vote.

When I was younger I think I liked 3 Ninjas better, or at least happened to see it more times. Now, though, I think Surf Ninjas is much better. It's more absurd and over-the-top and completely unashamed to be itself. It's totally '90s in every way, from the surfing to the ninjas to the Game Gear to Leslie Nielson. This movie really went all-out to fully embrace the zeitgeist of its times, and in doing so it completely destroyed its chances of making any sense to future generations. Love it. Also love Ernie Reyes Jr. (he rules as Kino in that Ninja Turtles movie), which automatically makes this movie better than 3 Ninjas. I even watched some of that lame MTV show "Final Fu" recently because he was the host.
