Why do Bruce Willis regret and hate this one?

It's one of his highlights besides Die Hard & Last Boyscout.

Anyone knows? Anyone who know where we can read or see it where he talks about his hate for this one?

I didn't know he didn't like it. I've always thought it was a pretty useful sort of offering. Pretty derivative, but I liked seeing the cops out on the water.

No! This was definitely one of Bruce's worst! Not number 1, which we'll probably leave that for either Color of Night, or Hudson Hawk but this film is a true crapfeast! All those talented actors and a GREAT score and you come up with a pot boiler thriller you could probably have seen on ABC back around that time and an absurdly tacked SURPRISE ending that never made much sense and you've got why Bruce hates it so much. I even read that a fan of Bruce's talked about how he felt ripped off and Bruce actually gave him the money back from the cash in his pockets. The opening car chase was good, the boat chases were fun too but everything else around it just sucked!

That's a neat story about the fan and the "pocket money" jackson. I've seen it 3 or 4 times over the years and always liked it.I like seeing Sarah Jessica Parker in it too.

Now Color of Night and Hudson Hawk we're beginning to talk about real stinkers, not to forget a more current one...Setup.I'd rather walk on broken glass barefoot a la Die Hard, than see those again.

I never heard that Bruce hated this film. Where does he say that?

This wasn't that bad at all. It keeps your interest throughout, even though it does drag on a little too long.
I liked the River Rescue angle too, and the couple of twists.

"Color of Night" wasn't awful either. Its a guilty pleasure of mine, much like this film.
"Hudson Hawk" was terrible, as was "12 Monkeys" & "Die Hard 2".

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

the 'initial witness' with really long hair---looked like david foster wallace! a movie with those kinda of arty cameos can't be that bad.

I have always loved SD. I've watched it maaaaaaany times. So awsome (Still today 2014).

As you probably saw if you did read my post, you see i ask for links to where he declare his hate towards SD.
But it's common knowledge he hates it. I remember reading BW wrote a letter so SJP and asked her to forgive him for doing this crappy movie.

I actually like Hudson Hawk (Its a fun and classic ride) and Color of night (Jane March is sooooooooo beautiful).

Its a crappy little B action movie. And Bruce Willis made it when his career was red hot, which is weird. Now if he made it now days, at this stage in his career, it would be fine. But 1993, it was beneath him.

Color of Night was garbage. A wanna-be psychologial thriller that just failed.

Hudson Hawk was ok for what it was. A dumb, self-indulgent action flick for him to showcase himself.

The original cut tested very badly so Willis had to go back months later and do a bunch of reshoots. Which If you know anything about Bruce Willis nothing pisses him off more than having to leave one movie to go back and work on one he thought he was done with. And this was worse because he was on vacation between movies and had to go back and work on this one some more. He of course as always blamed the director, took no responsibility for it and started *beep* on it.

reply

Yes it is curious since he's made a lot worse movies since
