I have to agree. Not only is it the best Korean film, but one the best ever anywhere. I don't think I've seen a more sorrowful, moving work of art.

My film class just viewed this picture today. I must say I wasn't impressed through the first 30 minutes, but that had all changed by the end. Excellent film it was.

That's a bit harsh perhaps, but it does sort of meander along for a while at the beginning. What an (unexpected) ending though. The way the movie comes full circle, and then, in a way, doesn't.

The singing at the end just blew my mind.

Loved it when when the three main characters are walking with back packs in the middle of nowhere and begin a spontaneous dancing walk as they go along their way. Magic. All in one take too.

oh yeah, there was a lot of heart in that little scene. Korean cinema is becoming quite popular these days. Seopyeonje is very different from the stylistic films that are out today. It's steeped in pure tradition, and the music is breathtaking.

Within you I lose myself, without you I find myself, wanting to be lost again.

I have been looking for a YouTube clip of that scene for years now, one of the best in cinematic history :)
