Blake Edwards should have used his genius to conceptualized an entirely different idea but not making this movie an entire reference to Inspector Clouseau.

This is not a good movie, but I'm glad the "series" finally got some closure.
shareHaving seen Trail, Curse and Son of the Pink Panther all for the first time due to Netflix Instant, I really wish Blake Edwards left this series alone.
Each film was truly awful and felt rudderless without Sellers. They seemed to forget what made Closeau hilarious - the fact that he was dead serious and dedicated to his job but ended up making an idiot of himself in the process. Trail wasn't even a movie, but stitched together outtakes from the previous films.
People always cite something like Batman and Robin or Speed 2 as the worst sequels of all time, but I feel these Sellers-less sequels are just as bad. It's like if they made sequels to Die Hard or Indiana Jones without Bruce Willis or Harrison Ford. They all just felt like cheap, DTV cash-ins.
